How do I access The New York TImes?

Community College of Philadelphia has full access to the New York TImes from 1851 to Present through Proquest Newsstream (we do not provide access throught the native NYT website). Please follow the instructions below for access.

  1. In order to get full access to the Library resources, you must first be logged into the Library Website through MyCCP.  Here are instructions for that:
    1. Log in to MyCCP. Then:
    2. choose "Student Services" 
    3. choose Library. Now you should be logged in correctly. 
  2. Once you are at the Library website, you will see an area in the middle of the page that says Summon Search and a search box
  3. Above the Summon Search, you will see a tab marked Books, Articles, and More and next to that, a tab that says Databases
  4. click on the Databases tab
  5. click on the A-Z Database List under "Database Search"
  6. Once on the A-Z Databases page, choose the "N" option from the list of letters 
  7. We have 2 options for accessing New York TImes content. 

If you are seeking access to recent articles from The New York TImes, choose:

New York Times, The 

Coverage: January 1, 1980 - current. Through ProQuest Global Newsstream.

*please note that Proquest access includes full-text coverage of the daily NYT newspaper, but the images are not included.  

If you would like to see older content from New York Times, including images, choose:

New York Times, Historical, Extra Edition 

Access to news, editorials, letters to the editor, obituaries, birth and marriage announcements, stock photos, and advertisements. Coverage: 1851-2013.
